Art Off Pike A Success!

From Paula Peake, Gallery 31 Director:

"Another completely successful day at the Gallery!!! The event was called Art Off Pike. The street was closed to cars and booths were everywhere, on both sides of the street. Music, art and food; a Great day!

The weather was beautiful and we had a steady flow of people come through the Gallery. Again I was amazed at all the positive comments on the Art and Gallery. Here are some of the comments:

.....looks like a fine New York Gallery...... Best store ever in Covington..... Beautiful art ........ I can feel the love and peace here.....best selection of Art....... Diverse collection of art.......you have a good eye.....Best Gallery ever in Covington...... First class..... I am encouraged all the time through our visitors. Again, over and over, women and men alike raved over David Whitelaw's dress........

It was a fun day! I love talking selling art.....Ron said, I am certainly in my element..... Finally!....... Love, Paula"

An Evening with Jo and Victoria Vogels, Weds, July 8 at 7 pm.

Come spend a time of storytelling, song and encouragement with the Vogels. Joseph Vogels is a singer and songwriter of ‘The Victory Chant’, usually referred to as, ‘Hail Jesus, You’re my King’. Part of their outreach is to identify, encourage and refine the creative people whose gifts are dormant, damaged, delayed and unrecognized.

When and Where:
Wednesday, July 8, 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Passionate Arts Center, 31 W. Pike St., Covington, KY 41011

Casual dress. Light refreshments. No cost, but contributions accepted, in thanks to the Vogels.

If you like, bring your instrument, art work, writing, etc.

More background...
Joseph Vogels is a New Zealander and an Australian now living in North Carolina. For almost ten years he has been traveling the planet acting out the lyrics in his songs in a unique experience for the audience. He has people and children captivated with his humorous and serious lessons about life. He has a rich and fascinating array of life-changing stories that he tells before each song. These come from Celtic roots, next they are African, then from the South Pacific, etc. He writes in a wide variety of styles from contemporary folk rock to ballads to traditional sounds. His influences include: Bob Dylan, Sting, Peter Gabriel and the Beatles.

His new album, ‘Compendium’ has just been released and has the mastery of Elijah Mosely as producer and an array of international and local high quality musicians to create his best work. The songs are already affecting people’s lives, not just emotionally but intellectually and spiritually….the stories, emails and phone calls are coming in and being documented.

Jo has toured internationally with Kevin Prosch and Integrity music has recorded some of his works. He released his first album in 1997 in Sydney, Australia with Shania Twain’s first world tour guitarist/vocalist, Randall Waller, as producer. Placed second in a national Australian gospel songwriting competition, (over 4000 songs) he has also coached other internationally recorded artists from Australia while principal of the Australian Songwriting Kompany.

So please listen to this album but remember you have to see Jo’s prophetic storytelling through songs and actions to really capture it all. Enjoy!!! www.jovogels.com
